Our studies focus on the role of inflammatory signaling in malignant gliomas, with an emphasis on the identification and validation of novel immunotherapeutic strategies. We use a diverse combination of experimental approaches, including next-generation DNA/RNA sequencing, genetically engineered cell lines, and mouse brain tumor models to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying brain tumor biology and anti-tumor immunity. 3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Brown lab in the Department of Neurosurgery, Duke University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Associate. We are looking for a highly motivated applicant who is interested in researching cancer immunology, in particular mechanisms by which intratumor innate immunity can be leveraged for cancer immunotherapy. The Brown laboratory uses human specimens and murine models of glioma to mechanistically define glioma immune surveillance, identify novel strategies to engage productive anti-glioma immunity, and to discover mechanisms governing immune tolerance and immunotherapy resistance. The research team heavily contributes to ongoing collaborative clinical efforts focused on translating novel immunotherapies to the clinic, identifying biological correlates of immunotherapy activity in patient specimens, and defining immunological trajectories in glioma and other diseases using patient tissues and blood.
