3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

This full-time position will involve working with a team as well as preparing papers, reports, and contributing to grants, and thus excellent writing and communication skills are required. Essential research skills will include collecting ultrasound data using laboratory equipment and clinical ultrasound scanners, analyzing results, summarizing and presenting findings (lab meeting, meetings with collaborators, conferences, journal publications). The successful candidate will assist with multiple funded projects in the laboratory, with the opportunity to customize their level of involvement based on interests. Experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW and/or other programming skills would be advantageous. Exposure to modern statistical techniques including linear mixed model analysis, machine learning and other large data analytical techniques would be advantageous.

This Postdoctoral Research Associate position will use genetic and molecular biological approaches to investigate the genetic and immunological basis of Campylobacter jejuni induced colitis and autoimmunity. The Postdoc will also use genetic techniques to construct C jejuni and E coli strains in which the LOS component regulatory system is either inactive or constitutively active and will conduct immunology experiments to investigate the scope of disease modulation caused by these infections.
