The team at the Centre for Wireless Innovation (CWI) at QUB has pioneered research in the space of massive MIMO underpinned by an ERC Consolidator Grant led by Professor Michalis Matthaiou (IEEE Fellow). In this project, we are aiming to avail of this expertise to take the next step and innovate across holographic MIMO beamforming, which has been identified as a key technology for the next generation of wireless communications. In this project, we are looking for a high-calibre applicant with background in electromagnetics, communication theory and/or signal processing. Experience in EM numerical packages (e.g. CST) will be considered as a plus.
