1. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Do you want to put your basic biochemistry and cell biology knowledge into action, and see your research translate into the clinic? The Chou Lab at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking to recruit an outstanding candidate to fill a Postdoctoral Fellow position. Research in the lab focuses on (1) understanding the molecular drivers of genitourinary malignancies, including prostate and bladder cancers; (2) investigating the mechanisms that contribute to disease progression, drug resistance and metastasis, including the role of the tumor immune microenvironment; and (3) developing novel therapies for genitourinary cancers.
We are particularly interested in discovering novel surface protein targeting strategies and identifying new synthetic lethalities for specific molecular subtypes of cancer. Our lab utilizes cancer cell biology, immunology, CRISPR screening, mouse modeling and genomic approaches to answer these questions.
Our goal is to translate discoveries from the lab into the clinic to benefit oncology patients, and take questions from the clinic and answer them in the lab. We work collaboratively with basic scientists, radiologists, chemists, computational biologists, pathologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists and medical oncologists at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
