5. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The IU School of Medicine has an exciting Postdoctoral Fellow opportunity in the laboratory led by Dr. Stephanie Hurwitz in the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. The Hurwitz laboratory seeks to better understand the interaction of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) with the bone marrow microenvironment. Using a variety of in vitro and in vivo models, the lab studies complex HSPC-niche signaling, including through secreted extracellular vesicles (EVs), that underlies physiologic and therapeutic mechanisms of HSPC marrow homing and niche occupancy. Using cutting-edge RNA and genome sequencing techniques combined with functional studies, we also aim to understand how HSPC vesicles fine-tune cellular function, particularly under regenerative stress such as transplantation. The overarching goal of the Hurwitz lab is to better understand and improve outcomes for patients undergoing HSC transplantation.

12. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

A postdoctoral fellow position (experimentalist) is now available at the Department of Physics, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana, U.S.A. The project aims to experimentally design and optimize macroscopic entangled states of light based on femtosecond laser-driven bright squeezed vacuum states, multimode pulsed squeezed coherent states, and other nonclassical states of light. Bright squeezed vacuum can be experimentally generated through high-gain parametric down-conversion or four-wave mixing, which is a promising tool for applications in quantum sensing and quantum imaging. On the other hand, multimode pulsed squeezed coherent states can be realized through optical parametric amplification and other nonlinear processes. As theoretical understanding of such nonclassical states has advanced over the past few years, numerous experiments will be required to verify and further optimize them for potential applications.
