This position is designed to have 60-70 percent clinical time commitment with the remainder of time dedicated to clinical research and program development/quality activities. Research time is protected time. The position is a two-year fellowship beginning July, August or September 1. With mentorship, the postdoctoral scholar will be expected to design and execute his/her own small research project or program development/quality improvement initiative as part of the fellowship. A postdoctoral scholar position is available for a motivated, ambitious, and talented scientist to study the roles of lipoproteins in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in the laboratory of Dr. Scott Gordon in the Saha Cardiovascular Research Center at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. Our laboratory mainly focuses on roles of lipoproteins in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and mechanisms of lipid absorption by the intestine and how this process can impact metabolic health. We are seeking outstanding scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees. The ideal candidate will have research experience in the field of cardiovascular disease and lipid or lipoprotein metabolism, but outstanding candidates with experience in other areas will be considered.

5. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Research Scientist Assistant is tasked with leading basic data collection and analysis as well as conducting literature reviews that will inform research projects. This position will work with senior research staff to develop technical deliverables as well as grant proposals; will also be responsible for formatting reports and assisting senior staff with editorial work.
