This Postdoctoral Associate position will work on very-fine scale evapotranspiration modeling by combining satellite and UAV data with machine learning and AI. This individual will be responsible for processing data from Planet, Landsat and Sentinel satellites and collecting and processing UAV observations. And using these processed data to model very-fine spatial resolution evapotranspiration data using methods including machine learning, AI and two source energy balance-based evapotranspiration models.

3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science at Cornell University expects to have an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate in numerical relativity starting in September 2025. The position requires a Ph.D. and experience in numerical relativity or computational physics. The position is for one year, with subsequent renewals depending on performance and the availability of funds. The Cornell Relativity Group consists of Saul Teukolsky, Eanna Flanagan, Nils Deppe, Larry Kidder and research associates Mike Boyle and Will Throwe. The Fuller Spatial Ecology and Decision Science Lab https://blogs.cornell.edu/fullerlab/ at the New York Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit at Cornell University is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral associate position for a bat population monitoring project using mobile acoustic survey data. The project is in support of the North American Bat Monitoring Program (NABat), collaborating with partners from the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The project builds on a strong foundation of mobile acoustic work conducted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC), and other state agency partners, and will involve the analysis of mobile acoustic survey data from monitoring partners in the northeastern United States.

The Cornell Population Center (CPC) invites applicants for the Frank H.T. Rhodes Postdoctoral Fellowships. The position starts August 15, 2025 and will continue for 2 years, subject to a satisfactory first year evaluation. Selection is based on scholarly potential, ability to work in multi-disciplinary settings, and the support of a CPC faculty affiliate who will serve as mentor. Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

This position will work on a DOE-funded project entitled “Amazon vs Congo: Understanding the Intercontinental Differences of Tropical Rainforests’ Responses to Climate Variability” under the supervision of Professor Ying Sun. The responsibilities of this position include synthesizing in-situ field measurements from collaborators (site PIs) in the Amazon and Congo basins, conducting machine learning-based causal inference analysis on the response of climate variability of carbon fluxes for both site and regional scales, and incorporating a novel model of solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence (SIF) and photosynthesis into the ELM-FATES model. This Postdoctoral Associate will collaborate closely with scientists from Harvard University and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, along with field scientists in Amazon and Congo basins.
