1. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are currently seeking an innovative and self-driven Postdoctoral Associate to work within the lab of Dr. Michelle Wang, Professor of Physics, J.G. White Distinguished Professor in the Physical Sciences, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Investigator at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. The Wang lab operates at the intersection of physics and biology – pioneering single-molecule techniques to investigate DNA mechanics and topology of fundamental biological processes and theoretically modeling these processes using statistical mechanics and thermodynamics.

2. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are seeking an ambitious and driven Postdoctoral Associate excited to do cutting-edge research at the intersection of biology, chemistry, and physics in the lab of Dr. Martin Jonikas at Princeton University. The Jonikas lab and collaborators are spearheading the molecular characterization of the pyrenoid, a mysterious phase-separated organelle that mediates a third of global CO2 fixation and that we aim to engineer into crops to dramatically increase yields. The lab has defined the pyrenoid’s protein composition, discovered that it is a liquid-like organelle, characterized the structure and biogenesis of one of its three sub-compartments, the matrix, and developed a predictive model to guide its engineering.

3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Gonzalez Lab at UCSF is seeking an energetic, curious, and driven Postdoctoral Associate interested in systems neuroscience to join our research team. The Gonzalez lab focuses on identifying the fundamental mechanism by which neurons process information and control behavior in mice and songbirds. We are particularly interested in implementing electrophysiological (high density probes) and imaging (single/multi-photon) tools to record neuronal activity in behaving mice/songbirds and identify how performance of complex motor behaviors is controlled by the brain.

4. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Voigts Lab at HHMI Janelia is looking for a Postdoctoral Associate to lead a project investigating the neural mechanisms by which rodents use internal models of the world to guide decisions. The lab combines cutting-edge experiments that leverage naturalistic behavior, large-scale electrophysiology, and quantitative methods.

5. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Our lab is part of the Mechanistic Cognitive Neuroscience department at Janelia. We seek to understand the mechanistic basis of social cognition. We do this by working to understand how rats classify and predict other rats’ actions and decide how to respond to them. We develop tools to make this possible and use these tools to reveal the neural basis of rodent social interaction in ethological settings.

6. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Sgro Lab is part of the Computation and Theory and 4D Cellular Physiology research areas at Janelia. We take a joint experiment‐theory approach to understanding how cells process information about the environment and one another to cooperate as part of emergent behaviors such as development. The lab uses both microbial and metazoan model systems for collective behaviors and development with the long‐term goal of identifying best practices that cells employ to effectively synchronize and coordinate behaviors in the natural world.

8. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Mendell laboratory is located in the Department of Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. We are a diverse group of passionate scientists investigating broad questions in RNA biology. In particular, we are interested in understanding how genes are regulated post-transcriptionally, how noncoding RNAs such as microRNAs and long noncoding RNAs participate in these regulatory pathways, and how these pathways go awry in human disease. We use a variety of approaches and model systems to address these questions including high-throughput screens, animal modeling, and mechanistic studies including structural biology.

12. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Orth Lab is interested in elucidating the activity of virulence factors from pathogenic bacteria. The lab strives to gain novel molecular insight into the virulence mechanisms caused by effectors as well as the eukaryotic signaling systems they emulate or target. The lab is working on bacterial T3SS systems, their regulators and their secreted effectors to understand how signaling systems in the eukaryotic host can be manipulated by bacterial pathogens. These studies provide novel insight into the molecular workings of eukaryotic signal transduction. The labs work at UT Southwestern is accomplished using a broad range of tools, including biochemistry, molecular microbiology, protein chemistry, structural biology, yeast genetics, cell biology, and more.
