Possible investigation topics include but are not limited to the space weathering of lunar and carbonaceous materials via solar wind irradiation and micrometeorite impacts, the valence state of transition metals in lunar and meteoritic materials as a result of space weathering and other alteration processes, and/or the weathering of Venus surface analogs under simulated atmospheric conditions.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Purdue High Energy Nuclear Physics group studies relativistic heavy-ion collisions as members of the STAR and sPHENIX experiments at RHIC, and the CMS experiments at the LHC. Our primary physics interests are in the areas of particle correlations and heavy flavor production to elucidate the properties of high-density QCD and the QGP. The group is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position focused on the CMS experiment at the LHC, with a modest amount of effort directed to ePIC at EIC.

4. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

This position is through a NIH-funded project involving remote collection of laboratory-grade data from children with congenital Zika syndrome (CZS) to evaluate the progression of new or worsening structural and clinical features and identify risk factors for decline among severely affected children with CZS. Dr. Kelleher’s research uses telehealth-based methods to assess early development of children at risk for a variety of health outcomes, including autism. The candidate will support Dr. Kelleher in the design of the heart rate deceleration protocol for this project, assist with training staff to implement the protocol, and overseeing the data collection and processing. Dr. Foti’s research uses EEG methods to study the pathophysiology of psychiatric illnesses. The candidate will support Dr. Foti in the EEG Data collection, processing, and analysis for this project.

The ECSO Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Purdue University is looking for a motivated and independent postdoctoral researcher with an interest in evolutionary biology and systems biology. The position is for a minimum of 2 years (extendable to 3 years). The start date is flexible and can be as early as December 2024. The proposed project is funded by the John Templeton Foundation and aims to investigate the evolutionary trajectory of nascent genes and their energetic costs in experimentally evolved populations.
