The Postdoctoral Associate will collaborate with Prof. Michael Lovenheim and Prof. Evan Riehl on research projects related to teacher training and the returns to college majors, predominantly using Texas administrative datasets. The Postdoc will assist us with data analysis and writing of research papers in addition to continuing to work on independent research. This is a full-time research position; there is no teaching requirement. The Postdoctoral Associate will receive $70,000 in salary as well as a modest research budget $7,500.00 and $3,000.00 in moving allowance.

The Postdoctoral Associate will be affiliated with ILR’s Experimental Psychology and Organizations Lab (ExPO Lab), a group of micro organizational behavior and human resources researchers who seek to advance knowledge about fundamental psychological processes relevant to human attitudes, cognitions and behavior in organizations. The Department of Mathematics at Cornell University invites applications for a position of Active Learning Postdoctoral Associate, starting July 1, 2024. The Tako Lab conducts multidisciplinary research that links between the research fields of Food Science and Nutrition. Overall research focuses on various aspects of (a) dietary trace mineral deficiencies, cause and effects, with emphases on the physiological and nutritional factors and practices that influence the intestinal absorption of micronutrients, specifically iron and zinc. (b) the characterization of the individual and interactive effects of dietary minerals (Fe/Zn), phytochemicals and prebiotics common to staple foods on the intestinal microbiome and BBM functionality. Evaluation of plant origin bioactive compounds extracted from food crops on mineral (Fe, Zn) dietary bioavailability and absorption in vivo. In this context, we use approaches that utilize both cellular and unique animal (Gallus gallus, both hatchling and embryonic) models to assess mineral bioavailability of staple food crops, and plant origin bioactive compounds.
