4. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are seeking a creative and self-motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in studying the factors that contribute to inter-individual variability in the analgesic response to NSAIDs. The project seeks to identify the factors that contribute to the need for supplemental opioid after third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction and identify biomarkers that are predictive of analgesic response to NSAIDs. The ultimate goal of this work is to enable development and testing of a treatment algorithm that can be incorporated into clinical care to facilitate a precision medicine approach to pain management.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Miner laboratory studies the role of cytosolic nucleic acid sensors in rare diseases, antiviral immunity, autoimmunity, neurodegeneration, and DNA damage responses. In our laboratory, rare disease research is a starting point to define fundamental biological mechanisms. We also prioritize development of novel therapies for patients with rare monogenic diseases. We have 2 new R01s as well as private funding to support multiple postdocs. We have discovered several new mechanisms of autoimmunity, antiviral immunity, neurodegeneration, and autoinflammation.
