5. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Tse Lab has a postdoctoral associate position available for either or both projects listed below.

Project I: Understanding coronavirus pathogenesis and transmission (zoonotic, enzootic, and pandemic). The focus of the project is to understand the molecular mechanisms of host factors and viral determinants that enhance Coronavirus zoonosis. Traditional molecular virology skills and the ability to generate hypotheses are required. Work also requires biosafety level 3 (BSL3) training, with previous experience in BSL3 preferred.

Project II: Develop a safe and efficacious Dengue virus vaccine for naïve children in endemic areas. The focus of the project is to understand the correlation between dengue vaccine protection and antibody enhancement. Unwanted/unsafe epitopes will be removed via viral engineering. Research skills in structural, engineering, and evolution of viral antigens are required. Small animal work is necessary.

6. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

This position is funded by a collaborative project funded by the Taylor Geospatial Institute (https://taylorgeospatial.org/). The title of the project is: “Rethinking Multimodal Localization Systems at Scale in Challenging Scenarios”. The project aims to advance research in the field of network-based localization by looking at GPS alternatives, e.g., but not limited to, 5G networks, by harnessing the potential of multimodal approaches. Examples of solutions would explore the synergy between Open-Radio Access Networks (ORAN), LiDAR Cameras, and smart access points equipped with multimodal antennas to enhance localization accuracy and scalability.
