Summary of PhD Program:
The purpose of the project is to test the hypothesis that interferon-stimulated proteins have prognostic significance and influence the emergence of treatment resistance in DLBCL, and the specific objectives are:
To investigate the prognostic value of digital immunohistochemical analysis of interferon-stimulated proteins in large patient materials.
To investigate the functional role of these proteins in DLBCL:
a. through in vitro studies in different DLBCL cell lines
b. by mapping activity and relevance in associated signaling pathways
c. by investigating the therapeutic effect of blocking/downregulation of such genes/proteins, as proof-of-concept in vivo, in DLBCL mouse models.

5. Fully Funded PhD Position in Medical Science – Cardiac genomics
Summary of PhD Program:
The PhD candidate will leverage whole genome sequence data from a unique resource of explanted hearts collected from both of the Swedish heart transplant centers (Gothenburg and Lund) to determine the contribution of somatic mutations in nuclear and mitochondrial DNA as well as viral sequences to HF. Analyses will draw on experience from cancer genomics, with cancer and hematopoetic genomics experts serving as co-supervisors. The candidate will thus obtain broad insights into genome analysis and applications from both major contributors to human disease – heart disease and cancer. Tasks will include reading the relevant literature, study planning, developing computational pipelines, and conducting statistical analyses.
