Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? University of Gothenburg, Sweden invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.
Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.
1. Fully Funded PhD Position in Organic Chemistry
Summary of PhD Program:
The position will be associated with the research activities conducted in Carl-Johan Wallentin’s research group, where a general focus is on the development of new catalytic methods to generate molecular complexity and activate typical inert functionalities. More specifically, we focus on the use of catalytic processes that is mediated by visible-light. The project is a collaboration between several research groups, which means that the candidate will have access to world-leading experts and relevant equipment at several universities. The project will thus involve method development in the field of photoredox catalysis, where interactions across scientific disciplines and between several research groups enable research at the absolute forefront in the research area.
Application Deadline: 2023-09-30
2. Fully Funded PhD Position in Microbial Nitrous Oxide Cycling
Summary of PhD Program:
The main research objectives for this position will be to analyze distributions of N2O, elucidate pathways, quantify rates and identify environmental controls of N2O production and consumption, and identify the key microbes involved and their metabolic capabilities in the oxygen depleted waters of the eastern tropical Pacific and central Baltic. This will involve the use of state of the art techniques including stable isotope tracing and mass spectrometry, optical oxygen sensing and insitu incubation techniques as well as biomolecular analyses. Throughout the project, the selected candidate will work closely together with the project team (national and international researchers) and will have the opportunity to visit project partners at the University of Southern Denmark, Denmark and Montana State University, USA.
Application Deadline: 2023-08-30

3. Fully Funded PhD Position in AI for Software Engineering
Summary of PhD Program:
The goal of this project is to study, develop and evaluate large language models (like GPT-3/4) in software development, with the focus on programming, requirements engineering, testing and quality assurance. In collaboration with Software Center companies, like Zenseact, we will study how these large language models can help contemporary software industry to become more productive and more competitive on the global market. We study opportunities and obstacles as well as we construct new tools and methods to overcome them.
Application Deadline: 2023-09-12
4. 02 Fully Funded PhD Position in Comparative Literature
Summary of PhD Program:
The goal of doctoral education is for the doctoral student to develop the knowledge and skills to be able to conduct original and independent research in comparative literature, and to contribute to the development of knowledge within the discipline through the production of a scholarly thesis. The doctoral student is expected to communicate scientific findings in both oral and written form. Another aim is to develop the ability to apply the acquired knowledge and skills within post-degree research or other qualified professional work.
Application Deadline: 2023-09-15
5. Fully Funded PhD Position in Mechanisms underlying treatment of neuroblastoma
Summary of PhD Program:
In this proposal the PhD student will work to understand how a combination of ALK/ATR inhibition is therapeutically effective, to maximize the potential of these findings for clinical benefit in NB patients. The project builds on two important pillars:
(1) our expertise in ALK signaling and the unique mouse models of ALK-driven NB that we have generated, and
(2) our recent identification of a combination treatment with ALK and ATR inhibitor that leads to complete and sustained tumor depletion in genetically modified mouse NB models.
The PhD-project will employ ALK-driven cell and genetic engineered modified mouse models (GEMM) to evaluate our recently identified ALK/Ataxia telangiectasia and Rad3-related (ATR) kinase inhibitor combination treatment in high-risk NB. This will employ DNA, single cell RNA and protein ‘omics’ technologies together with bioinformatics and wet-lab validation to explore the effect of ALK/ATR on NB tumour development. Specifically, the project entails a deep exploration of ALK/ATR combination therapy for ALK-positive NB and investigating RAS resistance in relapsed ALK-positive NB.
