The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Bioinformatics Analyst to join the Bioinformatics Shared Resource (Core) of our NCI-designated Cancer Center. The Bioinformatics Core provides Wistar investigators with expertise in analyses and computational modeling for the biomedical research data and data management. The successful candidate will apply and develop bioinformatics approaches for analysis of data from high throughput experiments conducted by Wistar scientists, including but not limited to bulk and single cell next generation sequencing and other various types of genomics and proteomics data.

Research in Liang Lab focuses on understanding the basic principle of cellular processes to answer key questions in cancer development and viral infectious disease. Positions are available for studying stem cell biology in colorectal cancer and leukemia development using the state-of-the-art 3D platform and respective animal models; and for studying melanoma resistance. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary, highly interactive team, and postdocs are expected to conduct independent and challenging research and work in a highly collaborative manner. 5. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Yulia Nefedova. The Nefedova laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms involved in regulation of tumor progression and therapy resistance by tumor microenvironment. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is interested in investigating the biology of myeloid cells and their targeting in multiple myeloma and other cancer types. PhD or equivalent degree in immunology, cellular or molecular biology, or relevant field is required. The ideal candidate will have expertise in myeloma/cancer immunobiology, and experience working with mouse myeloma and/or solid cancer models, flow cytometry, cell isolation, immunological techniques, mammalian cell culture, and standard molecular biology techniques.
