Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester, England invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.
Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.
1. Fully Funded PhD Position in Generating Green Hydrogen out of Thin Air
Summary of PhD Program:
We will explore both experimental techniques as well as computational models to provide feedback for designing higher efficient electrolyser devices. However, we do not expect you to have prior knowledge of fabricating and running electrolysers or on computational models. You will get the opportunity to learn from both an experienced supervisory team and other research group members at the Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre. Additionally, you will work in parallel with another industrial partner-funded PhD project based on liquid water-fed systems.
Application Deadline: 23 July 2025
2. Fully Funded PhD Position in Understanding human-AI interaction: neural mechanisms, emotions and behaviours
Summary of PhD Program:
This project will provide crucial insight into how human-AI communication is impacting core social-cognitive processes, emotions and behaviours. By focusing on key areas of the brain, such as the frontal lobe, and the temporoparietal junction, the research aims to determine whether human-AI interactions may be associated with dampened activation of the neural mechanisms typically used in human-to-human exchanges. The findings of this project will extend current understanding and theories surrounding social cognition, with a particular focus on Theory of Mind and emotional resonance.
Application Deadline: 31 August 2025

3. Fully Funded PhD Position in Uncovering Taxonomical Scores for Performance: An investigation into the reanimation of archival, training and compositional practices through the work of Reckless Sleepers
Summary of PhD Program:
Using Reckless Sleepers’ extensive body of work as a case study, this PhD will contribute new knowledge to the fields of archival and performance research, generating a model of practice that can be utilised by other artists. Structured over three overlapping phases, the project asks how taxonomies of practice, or scores, can be developed through engagement with a material archive (video and photographic documentation, digitised director notebooks, workshop plans, performance reviews, funding applications, etc.), attendance at live performance events, workshops, residencies and interviews.
