Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? Manchester Metropolitan University, England invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.

Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.

1. Fully Funded PhD Position

Summary of PhD Program:

To advance our research into human health and ageing, we are looking for PhD candidates with a computer science and machine learning background. We particularly welcome applications from those with knowledge of medical image analysis and/or data science. Ageing is usually quantified as a measurement of the time elapsed since birth (chronological age). However, this simple count cannot explain the large variations in the ageing trajectories that exist between older people of similar age.

2. Fully Funded PhD Position

Summary of PhD Program:

The aim of this PhD project is to use state-of-art techniques in the laboratory to investigate epigenetic regulatory mechanisms including, microRNAs to understand molecular mechanisms responsible for airway epithelial abnormalities in asthma patients, both at baseline and after common respiratory infections, such as influenza infection.

During this project, the candidate will learn and use a wide range of novel techniques, including advanced and translational cell culture techniques and infection, epigenetics, genomics and protein detection techniques, ex vivo. Using these innovative approaches, we will detect the functional roles of microRNAs in epithelial cells, as a regulatory factor of airway epithelial remodelling in asthma patients, after influenza A H1N1 infection.

3. Fully Funded PhD Position

Summary of PhD Program:

The outcome of this project will provide evidence-based data on how current forest management practices impact willow-tit recovery schemes and biodiversity net-gain goals. We will develop and build upon emerging technologies in Manchester Met’s new £117M science facilities, focusing on non-invasive biodiversity monitoring and experimental behavioural ecology through bioacoustics. The work will also aim to fill crucial knowledge gaps about the differential success of closely related species in human-disrupted landscapes, through experimental investigation of willow tit and blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus) competition and interaction.
