Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? University of Copenhagen, Denmark invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.

Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.

The PhD will be focussing on sustainable assessment of land-based algae-based foods and its role in pathways towards healthy, environmentally sustainable Nordic diet. The SeaFree project aims at moving the seafood sector into the era of the regenerative circular economy enabling zero emission land-based seafood production. The latter through an innovative design of the Seaweed Synergy Plug’N’Play solution allowing for Heat, CO2 and nutrient Emission Capture for Utilisation (HECU) in seaweed production, expanding Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) into Integrated Multitrophic Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (IMRAS). The MASSPROVIT project aims at providing proof of concept for value creation of industrial sidestreams for the production of a low footprint protein-rich micro-algae biomass, with the potential to substitute the import of CO2 and resource intensive proteins to Denmark.

Apply now

We are looking for strong candidates within the broader field of Chemistry. Applicants should hold a MSc or a BSc degree related to one or more of the areas of experimental and theoretical chemistry listed above, with excellent results and good English language skills. The three criteria for the assessment of the applications will be the A) The excellence of the PhD candidate based on former performance at BSc and MSc level, B) The academic originality and expected impact of the proposed project and C) Implementation including the relevance of the supervisor host environment and the feasibility of the PhD project plan.

Apply now

Follow FellowshipBard for daily updates!

Facebook

Twitter

Linkedin

The PhD fellowship is offered in the context of an ERC Starting Grant held by Isabelle Augenstein on ‘Explainable and Robust Automatic Fact Checking (ExplainYourself)’. ERC Starting Grant is a highly competitive funding program by the European Research Council to support the most talented early-career scientists in Europe with funding for a period of 5 years for blue-skies research to build up or expand their research groups.

Apply now

We invite applications from outstanding candidates with a background in astronomy, physics, or related technical disciplines with strong motivation for doing research within DAWN’s research themes: high-redshift galaxy evolution, epoch of reionization, first stars and galaxies, dust, cosmochemical evolution, and the ISM in the early universe and dark matter, as well as within HEAVYMETAL’s research area: follow-up observations and modelling of neutron star mergers and kilonovae.

Apply now

We are looking for candidates with experience with assessment and science education in primary school or lower secondary school and/or teacher education. Candidates with competencies in both qualitative and quantitative research methods will be preferred. Proficiency in understanding and speaking Danish or another Scandinavian language is required, as the PhD candidate will be working closely with Danish science teachers in local school settings. Finally, candidates with previous experience in research dissemination and publication will be preferred.

Apply now

Department of Chemistry invites applicants for two PhD fellowships in theoretical catalysis. The projects are rooted in the Theory group which is part of Center for High Entropy Alloy Catalysis (CHEAC) funded by Danish National Research Foundation, and the ERC Synergy project DEMI funded by European Research Counsil Executive Agency.

Apply now

We aim to attract top talent from around the world to an ambitious, creative, collaborative, and fun environment. Using the power of mathematics, we strive to create fundamental breakthroughs in algorithms and complexity theory. While our focus in on theoretical research, we do have a track record of surprising algorithmic discoveries leading to major industrial applications.

Apply now

We are thrilled to announce a unique PhD opportunity to carry out research at the intersection of innovative health infrastructures, data sharing, and complex regulatory frameworks, with an emphasis on GDPR, EU AI Act, and other upcoming legislations). The position is hosted by the dynamic Inter-CeBIL program, anchored at the Center for Advanced Studies in Biomedical Innovation Law (CeBIL), Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen. Supported by a 50 million DKK grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the Inter-CeBIL program unites core partners from the Universities of Copenhagen, Harvard, Cambridge and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), along with research fellows and affiliates from top universities globally.

Apply now

PhD1 will develop, apply, and discuss applications of aggregated and disaggregated location-based Big Social Media Data concerning where and when the visitation to recreational landscapes is changing and at which spatial and temporal scales. The work will focus on considerations of spatial/temporal scale, aggregation, and resolution of the raw data, as well as on appropriate fusion with other new and classic data sources, analysis, validation, and visualization/communication. Furthermore, potential for prediction/simulation of future use levels can be explored.

Apply now

The overall aim of the project is to develop deep learning methods that can improve, automate and speed up radiotherapy planning and to document the clinical value of such approaches. The proposed project will follow a novel approach of quantifying and optimising plan quality in training of the deep learning model with direct prediction of machine delivery parameters using data from orders of magnitude more patients than prior work in this field. We will investigate if this will lead to improvements over existing clinical procedures and state of the art methods. Artificial intelligence methods need to be tested through prospective evaluations in a real-life clinical scenario. The project is therefore built through both technical aims related to developing the artificial intelligence needed to generate radiotherapy treatment plans and the clinical implementation and testing of such methods in the oncology ward at Rigshospitalet.

Apply now

This PhD position will assess VOC exchange in lakes and possibly other freshwater ecosystems. VOC production and consumption rates will be sought linked to environmental conditions and community dynamics in bacterio- and phytoplankton. These may be assessed in situ as well as under controlled conditions in incubation studies. Floating chambers with semi-automated VOC sampling setups will be used to assess VOC exchange at water-air surfaces. VOCs will be measured using proton transfer reaction-time of flight-mass spectrometry (PTR-TOF-MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Activity and composition in plankton will be measured by isotope and molecular sequencing techniques. The PhD candidate will be supervised by Prof. Riikka Rinnan and Prof. Lasse Riemann from VOLT.

1. Fully Funded PhD Position in Food Design and Sustainability
