Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.

Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.

Plant pollen and nectar are highly important food resources for bee pollinators. The chemical composition of these resources plays a major role in determining which plants are visited by bees for food collection and how they affect bee health and fitness. In particular pollen chemistry additionally affects the bees’ resistance to pathogens. However, the interplay between pollen chemistry, pathogens and bee health is still poorly understood and represents the focus of this collaborative project.

Apply now

The current PhD position is available for a highly motivated candidate to work within the research group of Prof. Olivier De Wever. The main aim of the PhD project is to address the fidelity of tumor models in cancer research. In this regard, the PhD student will apply state-of-the-art technologies to analyze the behaviour and therapy response of tumor models including the composition and characteristics of cancer cells and tumor microenvironment elements such as cancer-associated fibroblast (CAF) and immune cells.

Apply now

Follow FellowshipBard for daily updates!

Facebook

Twitter

Linkedin

Telegram Channel

The researcher will work within an Inter-University project on artificial intelligence in collaboration with other Flemish Universities. This project will investigate if AI systems can really equal human performance when it comes to complex tasks. AI systems have to be capable of complex reasoning in a way that is autonomous, intelligent and trustworthy. Therefore, we need systems that can integrate and interpret, represent and understand their complex environment in multiple domains, over large timescales and in shared human-machine contexts.

Apply now

Your prime goal is to understand the nature of the photo-cycle in COFs, starting from light absorption to eventual redox chemistry. To study the effect of optical excitations on covalent organic frameworks, this PhD topic takes the aim to employ optical pump – visible probe spectroscopy. In particular, the visible light probe allows us to track directly the electronic excitations (electrons ,holes) in the COF framework after being generated by light absorption.

Apply now

Within this project, you will work on a specific work package, led by the Laboratory for Bioresource Recovery (RE-SOURCE, Prof. Erik Meers) and the Thermochemical Biomass Conversion Research Group (TCCB, Prof. Frederik Ronsse). Your specific task in this project involves concentrating carbon in organic solid waste (e.g., sludge) through hydrothermal carbonization or pyrolysis. This significantly improves the energy efficiency of plasma gasification. In the case of mineral- and P-rich biomass, you will investigate the potential for P recovery during plasma gasification.

Apply now

We offer a fully funded, full time PhD position in a 4-year research project in the area of sustainable consumption (initial 1-year position with 3-year extension upon satisfactory performance). You will be supervised by prof. dr. Adriaan Spruyt (Ghent University) and Agnes Moors (University of Leuven). The successful candidate will join the Department of Marketing, Innovation, and Organization of Ghent University. Building on the idea that consumer behavior is inherently goal-oriented, this project seeks to demonstrate that attempts to influence consumer decision making via social media advertisements will be successful only if and to the extent that interindividual differences in (implicit) goal hierarchies and behavior – outcome expectancies are taken into account.

Apply now

This Phd position focuses on constructing a virtual immersive environment that could be representative for Antwerp in the 19th Century, in a number of city quarters with diverse (geometrical) characteristics. Focus is on a realistic auralization including detailed rendering of urban sounds based on sound propagation modelling in open (such as squares and harbour areas) and more enclosed (such as streets) urban spaces.

Apply now

In this research project, the candidate will build further on our existing expertise to design and create novel nanocrystal imaging probes that can aid in the battle against breast cancer. In a first step you will create new nanocrystals and tune their surface chemistry for biological applications. Next, you need to gain a deeper understanding on how the nanocrystals interact with specific cell populations and possibly cause toxicity. In the final step, you assess the in vivo lymphatic and intravenous bio-distribution, imaging performance and safety.

Apply now

In this PhD you will focus on designing new conversational AI models, based on recent foundation models. The key research question is how these state-of-the-art language models (including multi-modal versions) can be leveraged and adapted to create an AI-powered voicebot in a recruiting context. Key challenges are to achieve (1) controlled adaptation of the question sequence in the conversation; (2) personalization of dialog flow as well as language; and (3) improving engagement to ultimately limit drop-out of potential candidates.

Apply now

The IDLab Ghent research group is seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join the Software-Defined Radio (SDR) research team. Digital communication plays a pivotal role in professional environments, supporting both persons, machines to interact with each other over a communication network. In professional environments, such as industry automation (industry 4.0), communication becomes increasingly diverse, and demands more reliable and time-critical end-to-end wireless connectivity, that can seamlessly adapt to dynamic environments and application needs.

Apply now

This PhD research has three main objectives: 1. Develop innovative plant-based, food-grade inks with adjustable textural properties for extrusion-based 3D printing. Apply now

1.
