Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? University of Greenwich, London, England invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.

Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.

Sewage sludge is rich in valuable nutrients/minerals such as phosphorus and aluminosilicates. However, its management represents some 20 – 60% of operational costs and thus require effective solutions. Hence, this project aims to leverage on its chemical composition to produce geopolymers. Geopolymers are new-generation environmentally friendly binders in contrast to Portland cement that can be synthesized from aluminosilicate sources through alkali or acid activation. However, very few studies have considered acid activation for geopolymer production using sewage sludge as aluminosilicate source.

Apply now

Rapidly swirling flows in cyclonic devices create a radial acceleration field that causes materials with different densities to segregate. Initially, this method was used to separate solid particles from liquids and gases, akin to centrifugal separation of dust from air. This technology found a wide range of applications, from dehydration, particle segregation and classification, to liquid-liquid separation applications in many the industries, such as water and wastewater treatment, mining, paper and food manufacturing, and many others.

Apply now

Follow FellowshipBard for daily updates!

Facebook

Twitter

Linkedin

Telegram Channel

Additive manufacturing (AM) is transforming manufacturing processes, with its global market projected to grow from £12 billion in 2020 to approximately £51 billion by 2030. A key challenge in laser additive manufacturing (LAM) is the recycling of powders, a common practice to minimise waste and costs. Over multiple cycles, powders degrade due to factors such as particle attrition, surface oxidation, and the accumulation of condensate fines. These issues compromise powder deposition, sintering, and the quality of the final components.

Apply now

Our vision is to expand our world-leading Multi-Disciplinary and Multi-Scale Modelling expertise in both reach and ability, to tackle major societal challenges affecting the environment, quality of life, safety, security, and the economy. This will be achieved through the amalgamation and expansion of two existing award-winning teams: the Centre for Safety, Resilience and Protective Security (CSRPS) and the Computational Science and Engineering Group (CSEG), creating the Multi-scale, Multi-disciplinary Modelling for Impact (M34Impact) platform.

Apply now

The aim of this project is to explore a quantum approach of a new abstraction for computing that models the functionality of the human brain e.g. for AI applications. So far, this abstraction has been demonstrated successfully within an electronic and optical context where it was shown to make use of the complete spectrum of the technology (rather than a limited 0/1 abstraction) and we would now like to test and demonstrate the full quantum ability of this idea.

Apply now

The transition towards renewable energy sources and the electrification of transport underscores the increasing reliance on battery technologies. Concurrently, this surge in battery usage poses significant sustainability challenges, particularly in terms of waste management and resource depletion. The “Battery as a Service” (BaaS) business models have emerged as a promising approach for transitioning toward a circular battery economy. It shifts the focus from selling batteries to selling battery services, incentivising manufacturers to design for longevity, remanufacture, and responsible end-of-life management.

Apply now

The research will involve designing a novel in situ experimental setup for the recently acquired inCiTe 3D X-ray microscope and implementation of DVC algorithms to analyse the deformation of the cornea under various loading conditions. This will enable inverse Finite Element (FE) analysis to extract the material properties of the cornea based on the deformation data obtained from DVC, developing a constitutive model that accurately represents the corneal biomechanics. The project is mainly designed to offer a comprehensive and enriching research experience for the potential student, combining hands-on experimentation, exposure to advanced imaging technologies, interdisciplinary training, and opportunities for professional development.

Apply now

Diagenesis refers to the physical, chemical and biological processes that ‘turn’ sediments into rock (1,2). As sediments become buried by natural processes, they are subject to overburden pressure and raised temperatures, albeit lower than those that cause metamorphism (2,3). Diagenesis takes place over geological timescales and the rocks formed are used in industrial applications that range from cement and tile production to cladding and dimension stone. If diagenesis could be managed and rock produced (from sediments/sediment like materials) in anthropogenic timescales, there is potential to design the physical and mineralogical properties of the products.

Apply now

Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions?
