This project will link ROMS and field sampling via statistical validation and developing a species distribution model for secondary producers in the eastern Bering Sea, and thereby enable climate impacts forecast for these species. This postdoctoral researcher will work with a multi-disciplinary research team that includes UW and NOAA scientists with expertise in zooplankton ecology, ROMS modelling, and statistical analysis of ecological data.

The Garcia laboratory in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington and the VA Puget Sound is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral scholar, who is interested in studying signaling networks related to muscle wasting in cancer patients and in patient-derived samples.

The research team is interested in elucidating comprehensive signaling networks that control muscle mass and function with the goals to identify and characterize novel mechanisms of muscle atrophy in the setting of cancer. We are particularly interested in the role of mitochondria and hormonal signaling including androgens. The postdoctoral scholar will work in a highly interactive laboratory environment and collaborate with clinical experts, molecular biologists, and biochemists.
