Never Miss an Opportunity

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarships offer foreign graduates from developing and newly industrialized countries an opportunity to pursue postgraduate or Master’s degrees at state or state-recognized German universities. In exceptional cases, they also support doctoral degree programs, enabling recipients to obtain a university qualification (Master’s/PhD) in Germany.

Eligibility

Currently employed by a public authority or a state/private company in a developing country, engaged in projects related to development policies in technological, economic, or social areas.

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (typically four years of study).

Possess exceptional academic achievements (typically ranking in the upper third of their class) and at least two years of relevant professional experience after obtaining their Bachelor’s degree at the time of application.

Academic degrees earned should not be more than six years old.

For programs in German (which include a 6-month German language course), applicants must have successfully passed the language examination DSH 2 or TestDaF 4 before commencing their studies. A minimum German language proficiency level of B1 at the time of application is required and must be proven with a certificate.

For programs in English, applicants must demonstrate adequate language proficiency following the regulations of their chosen courses.

Scholarship Benefits

Scholarship benefits include monthly stipends of 861 euros for graduates and 1,200 euros for doctoral candidates, coverage of health, accident, and personal liability insurance, and a travel allowance (unless covered by other funding sources).

Scholarship durations vary, typically lasting 12 to 24 months for Master’s programs and 42 months for PhD programs.

Application Instructions

Interested candidates should apply directly to the respective courses they wish to pursue. Detailed application procedures, deadlines, and required documents can be found on the course websites. Application deadlines typically fall between August and October 2023.
