If you aspire to pursue a Master’s degree in the UK and meet the specified criteria, this guide will provide you with essential information on how to embark on this educational journey.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s study in the UK, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. You must be a citizen of one of the eligible Commonwealth countries listed below:

Bangladesh, Belize, Botswana, Cameroon, Dominica, Eswatini, Fiji, Gabon, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Montserrat, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Tonga, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, and Zambia.

2. You must be permanently resident in one of the eligible Commonwealth countries at the time of your application.

3. You should be available to commence your academic studies in the United Kingdom at the start of the UK academic year, which typically begins in September 2024.

4. You should hold a first-degree qualification of at least upper second-class honours standard (2:1). Alternatively, if you possess a second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification, typically a Master’s degree, it can also be considered. However, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) does not usually fund a second UK Master’s degree. If you are applying for a second UK Master’s degree, you will need to provide a compelling justification for pursuing this specific course of study.

5. Applicants must demonstrate that they are unable to afford the cost of studying in the United Kingdom without this scholarship.
